This course is designed to introduce participants to the basics of the tourism and hospitality industry. It focusses on the critical role that the delivery of quality customer service plays in the industry while creating an awareness of the various sites and attractions on the island.
The programme was developed by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation in collaboration with the Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI). The general objectives of the course are: To provide a local perspective of the hospitality and tourism industry, its impacts and trends; to create an appreciation of the importance of quality customer service of the visitor; to create awareness of the sites, attractions and natural environment on the island.
It is divided into three modules: Introduction to the hospitality and tourism industry, quality customer service and know my island.
